Terms of Service
Last updated: September 3, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of The Strategy Lab website and your purchase of services from The Strategy Lab.
By purchasing a service or otherwise expressly accepting these Terms, you agree to them.
1. About The Strategy Lab
The Strategy Lab provides strategic diagnostic, messaging, conversion, and related advisory services.
The principal offer described on this website is the Website Conversion & Messaging Diagnostic.
2. Diagnostic scope
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Website Conversion & Messaging Diagnostic covers:
one primary website or landing page and one principal buying context.
The diagnostic may include an Executive Diagnosis, Friction Map, Recommended Buying Argument, Message Blueprint, Priority Decision Board, Validation Plan, Execution Brief, 30-day sequence, premium PDF blueprint, optional recorded walkthrough, and one consolidated revision.
The exact scope confirmed before purchase controls if it differs from general website descriptions.
3. What is not included
Unless separately agreed in writing, the diagnostic does not include full website copywriting, visual redesign, website development, implementation, analytics installation, customer interviews conducted by The Strategy Lab, live user testing, SEO strategy, paid-media management, funnel implementation, or analysis of multiple websites, products, or materially different audience segments.
Additional services may be proposed separately after the diagnostic.
Payment for the diagnostic does not authorize work outside the confirmed scope.
4. Fit review and acceptance
Submitting the diagnostic request form does not create a client engagement and does not obligate either party to proceed.
The Strategy Lab may review the request to determine whether the project fits the defined scope.
If accepted, you will receive instructions for payment and project intake.
The Strategy Lab may decline a project that falls outside the scope, presents a conflict, lacks sufficient information, or is otherwise unsuitable for the service.
5. Fees and payment
The Website Conversion & Messaging Diagnostic is currently offered at the fixed price displayed on the website or confirmed to you before purchase.
The currency displayed at checkout applies.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due before diagnostic work begins.
Third-party processing fees, taxes, or other legally required charges may be added where applicable.
6. Project start and delivery
The standard delivery target is 5–7 business days after:
payment has been received; the required intake has been completed; and the necessary project materials have been provided.
The delivery period may change if information is missing, project scope changes, unexpected circumstances arise, or the parties agree otherwise.
Any revised timing will be communicated as soon as reasonably practicable.
7. Client responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate and reasonably complete information needed to perform the diagnostic.
You represent that you have the right to provide any materials, data, documents, screenshots, website content, or other information submitted to The Strategy Lab.
The quality and confidence of a diagnosis may depend on the information available.
8. Nature of the diagnostic
The Strategy Lab provides strategic analysis and professional judgment based on the evidence reasonably available at the time of the engagement.
A diagnostic is not a guarantee that any recommendation, website change, marketing activity, redesign, campaign, or implementation will produce a particular conversion rate, revenue level, number of leads, or other commercial result.
Strategic recommendations necessarily involve judgment, uncertainty, market conditions, implementation quality, and factors outside The Strategy Lab’s control.
The Strategy Lab does not fabricate performance claims, benchmarks, or certainty where adequate evidence is unavailable.
9. No professional legal, financial, or tax advice
Services are provided for website, messaging, marketing, and strategic decision-making purposes.
Nothing provided by The Strategy Lab constitutes legal, accounting, tax, investment, or other regulated professional advice.
You should consult the appropriate professional where such advice is required.
10. Revisions
Unless otherwise agreed, the diagnostic includes one consolidated revision.
A revision is intended to correct, clarify, or reasonably refine the delivered diagnostic.
It does not include a new engagement, substantially expanded scope, analysis of new websites or audiences, full rewriting, redesign, or implementation.
Requests outside the included revision may require additional fees.
11. Cancellation and refunds
If you cancel before work begins, any refund eligibility will be determined based on the circumstances, payment processing costs, the confirmed agreement, and applicable law.
Once substantive diagnostic work has begun, fees may be non-refundable because time and capacity have been reserved and customized professional work has commenced, subject always to rights that cannot legally be excluded.
If The Strategy Lab is unable to perform the agreed service, an appropriate refund or alternative arrangement will be provided.
12. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of materials you provide to The Strategy Lab.
Upon full payment, you may use the final client-specific diagnostic deliverables internally and provide them to designers, copywriters, developers, agencies, employees, or other professionals working on your behalf to implement the recommendations.
The Strategy Lab retains ownership of its pre-existing and reusable intellectual property, including methodologies, frameworks, diagnostic logic, templates, systems, processes, evaluation methods, know-how, and underlying tools.
Purchasing a diagnostic does not transfer ownership of The Strategy Lab’s methodology or reusable intellectual property.
13. Confidentiality
The Strategy Lab will use reasonable care to protect non-public client information received in connection with an engagement.
Confidential information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to trusted service providers supporting the engagement or where required by law.
The Strategy Lab will not knowingly publish confidential client information as marketing material without permission.
14. Portfolio and testimonials
Client names, logos, testimonials, project screenshots, diagnostic findings, or case-study materials will not be publicly attributed to a client without appropriate permission.
Any fictional or independent portfolio example will be identified as such and will not be presented as evidence of actual client performance.
15. Third-party tools and links
The website may contain links to third-party websites, software, payment providers, or other services.
The Strategy Lab does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their independent content, availability, security, or privacy practices.
Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms.
16. Website information
We aim to keep information on the website accurate and up to date, but website content may be modified, corrected, removed, or updated without notice.
General website content is informational and does not replace the specific scope confirmed for your engagement.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Strategy Lab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or speculative losses arising from business decisions, implementation choices, third-party services, lost profits, lost opportunities, or outcomes that depend on factors outside The Strategy Lab’s reasonable control.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, any limitation will apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
18. Governing law
Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, these Terms and any engagement with The Strategy Lab are governed by the laws applicable in the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
19. Changes to these Terms
The Strategy Lab may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applicable to a purchased engagement are those presented or incorporated into the agreement at the time the engagement is accepted, unless the parties agree otherwise or a change is required by law.
